I am very happy that you have visited this page. It means you are willing to learn new things and explore the building blocks of perfume.
But, I have made a decision. I decided not to write a single word about specific raw materials—like Rose, Jasmine, or Oud—until I finish the Scents & Science series.
Why? Because the foundation has to be built first.
Trying to understand raw materials without understanding chemistry is like trying to read a book without knowing the alphabet. You might enjoy the pictures, but you will miss the real story.
Right now, I am busy explaining the difference between an aldehyde and a ketone. Once we finish building that foundation, we will be ready to explore the beautiful world of fragrance raw materials together.
